An experiment was conducted during kharif
season of 2024 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Acharya N G Ranga
Agricultural University, Lam, Guntur. The experiment was laid out in FRBD with three
replications. In growth characters, significantly higher plant height was
recorded in plant spacing 105x60 cm over both the remaining spacings.
Significantly higher number of sympodial branches/plant and values of sympodial
length were recorded in plant spacing 105x60 cm over remaining spacings.
Nitrogen level @ 125% STBN recorded significantly higher plant height, number
of sympodial branches/plant and sympodial length than 75% and 100% STBN. Among
yield attributing parameters, the spacing S3 produced statistically
higher number of bolls per m2 and seed cotton yield over S1.
Nitrogen level 125% STBN recorded significantly higher number of bolls per m2
than remaining nitrogen levels. Boll weight was not affected significantly by
plant densities, nitrogen levels and their interaction (Spacing x Nitrogen).
Interaction effect of (Spacing x Nitrogen) was also found non significant on
seed cotton yield.
