Among the oilseed crops, Linseed is considered to be the most nutritious because of its capability to produce high-grade vegetable oil along with fibre. The nutrient that limits the crop yield to the maximum is nitrogen therefore with proper fertilization, linseed yield can be increased by more than 100 percent under rainfed conditions Hence a field experiment was carried out during the rabi season of 2021-22, 2022-23,2023-24 at Field Experimental Block, RRTTS, Keonjhar, Odisha to study the effects of Nitrogen Management through supplementation of Nano Urea on Linseed yield, quality and economics. The experiment was laid out in a Split plot design with twenty treatment combinations and two replications. In the main plot there were 4 Nitrogen Management practices through Fertilizers [ 100% N, 75% N , 50% N and 25% N applied in two splits - 50% N as basal + 50% N as top dressing ] and in the sub-plot there were 5 Nitrogen Management through Nano-Urea (N1- No spray of Nano-Urea , N2- One spray of Nano-urea @ 3ml /litre at flower initiation stage, N3- Two sprays of Nano-urea @ 3ml /litre each at flower initiation stage and capsule development stage, N4- One spray of 2% urea at flower initiation stage and N5- Two sprays of 2% urea at flower initiation and capsule development stage). The results of the experiments revealed that in the main plot maximum plant population (1245) was observed in treatment F2 whereas maximum number of capsules per plant and seeds per capsule was observed with the treatment F1. Highest seed yield (1267 kg/ha), oil yield(317kg/ha), net return (Rs 29611) and B:C ratio (2.02) was also registered in the same treatment. In sub plot maximum seed yield (1249 kg/ha), oil yield (302 kg/ha), net return (Rs 28259) and B:C ratio (1.96) were obtained with treatment N3, which was at par with treatment N5.
