The field experiment was carried out at the Vegetable Improvement Scheme, CES, Wakawali, Dist. Ratnagiri, to know the seasonal incidence of brinjal shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis on brinjal during the Rabi 2023-2024. The brinjal variety Konkan Prabha was found infested with brinjal shoot and fruit borer causing yield loss under field conditions. The population of brinjal shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis ranged between 19.20% to 35.21%. The infestation of shoot and fruit borer was observed at the first harvest from 4th SMW, i.e 20.14 per cent. In the 12th SMW (18th March-24th march) maximum mean population of brinjal shoot and fruit borer L. orbonalis (35.21%) was observed in the crop. The per cent fruit infestation of shoot and fruit borer exhibited a positive correlation with maximum temperature and bright sunshine hours while negative correlation with minimum temperature, morning and afternoon relative humidity. The maximum temperature (r = 0.788) and bright sunshine hours (r = 0.683) recorded positive significant correlation with per cent infestation of shoot and fruit borer. The minimum temperature (r = -0.253) has a negative non-significant correlation with per cent infestation of shoot and fruit borer. Morning relative humidity (r = - 0.787) and afternoon relative humidity (r=-0.660) recorded a negative significant correlation with per cent infestation of shoot and fruit borer.
