Subham Sharma, Harish Kumar Bijarnia, OP Sharma and Mukesh Kumar Jat

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2023-24 at Research Farm, School of Agriculture, Suresh Gyan Vihar University Jaipur, to study the “Effect of Weed Management Practices on Weed and Yield in Mustard (Brassica juncea L.)”. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. The experiment was consisting eight treatments viz., control (T1), two hand weeding at 30 and 60 DAS (T2), Pendimethalin @ 750 g ha-1 PE (T3), Pendimethalin @ 1000 g ha-1 PE (T4), Pendimethalin @ 750 g ha-1 PE + One hand weeding at 40 DAS (T5), Pendimethalin @ 1000 g ha-1 PE + One hand weeding at 40 DAS (T6), Oxyflorfen @ 1000 g ha-1 PE (T7) and Oxadiargyl @ 90 g ha-1 PE (T8) with three replications. The mustrad variety used for study was Giriraj.
The experimental results showed that weed management in mustard through two hand weeding at 30 and 60 DAS (T2) proved significantly best treatment in growth parameters viz., plant height and dry matter accumulation at successive growth stages, yield attributes viz., number of siliqua plant-1, number of seeds siliqua-1, test weight and yield viz., seed, stover and biological yield over rest of the treatments.
