Abstract
The study was carried out to evaluate the potato seed tubers of apical rooted cuttings (ARC) and their different generation tubers produced from ARC technology for growth and yield parameters in Southern Dry Zone of Karnataka during kharif season-2022 at Horticulture Research and Extension Centre, Somanahallikaval, Hassan. An experiment was laid out in RCBD with seven treatments and four replications. The data revealed that the treatment T1- ARC plantlets of Kufri Himalini was showed maximum survival percentage (81.17%), plant height (41.50, 63.79, 81.46 and 89.67 cm), number of branches per plant (4.79, 6.96, 8.71 and 9.12), number of leaves per plant (34.33, 58.06, 69.13 and 74.13), plant spread (1294.50, 1855.83, 2465.25 and 2753.13 cm2) at 30, 45, 60 and 75 DAP, respectively. Similarly, yield parameters were revealed that A-grade tubers (11.45 t/ha), total marketable tuber yield per hectare (28.27 t/ha), number of tubers per plant (8.87), tuber yield per plant (458.13 g) and total tuber yield per hectare (29.31 t) were found maximum in T1- ARC plantlets of Kufri Himalini. Therefore, the treatment T1 (ARC plantlets of Kufri Himalini) could be recommended for seed potato tuber production under Southern Dry Zone of Karnataka.
