Persistence, dissipation behavior and dietary risk assessment of fenazaquin in chilli under mid hill condition of Himachal Pradesh

Shivani Bhartiya, Sapna Katna and Sonali Sharma

Residual dynamics and dietary risk assessment of fenazaquin on chilli was carried out during 2022. Two foliar treatments of at single dose (125 g a.i./ha) and double dose (250 g a.i./ha), respectively were made. Samples were collected and processed using a modified QuEChERS method further analysis take place according to SANCO's specified criteria. The average initial residues of fenazaquin were 1.549 and 2.555 mg/kg at X and 2X dosage, respectively. In red chilli and soil the residues were below the limit of quantitation (<0.01 mg/kg). Fenazaquin follows the first order kinetics with half life of 3.10 and 3.47 days at single and double dose, respectively. The hazard quotient values in chilli for all age groups were below 1 indicating that the use of fenazaquin does not cause any health risk to the consumers.
