A field experiment was conducted at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P.), during the Rabi season 2024-25. To treatments consisting of two directions North-South and East-West and four dates of sowing 5th, 15th, 25th October and 4th November. The soil of the experimental plot was sandy loam in texture, having a pH of 7.1, contained 0.354 per cent organic carbon, 178.48 kg available nitrogen, 24.7 kg of phosphorus and 217.2 kg of potassium per hectare. There were 9 treatments, each replicated thrice and they were arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD). It is concluded that crop grown in East-West direction on 25th October (Treatment 7) recorded maximum plant height (103.61), maximum plant dry weight (27.10 g), maximum number of siliqua/plant (125.4), maximum number of seeds/siliqua (31.87), higher test weight (3.57 g), higher seed yield (2.05 t/ha) and higher stover yield (3.23 t/ha).
