The study on "Clonal selection and refinement of macropropagation in banana cv. Rajapuri (Musa spp. AAB)" was undertaken at KRC College of Horticulture Arabhavi, Karnataka, India, to know the performance of different clones of locally preferred cultivar Rajapuri. The experiment was laid out in RCBD design with 23 clones as individual treatments and 2 replications. The vegetative parameters like plant height, girth, number of leaves, leaf area, number of suckers etc. were recorded at different growth stages like 2, 4, 6 months after planting (MAP) and at shooting stage in the plant crop and Ist ratoon crop. Among the 23 clones used for evaluation at the shooting stage in the pooled mean, BRC-18 recorded maximum plant height (191.08 cm), BRC-21 recorded maximum plant girth (73.36 cm) and number of sucker (4.25). However, maximum number of functional leaves per plant (16.00), maximum leaf area per plant (15.79 m2) and maximum leaf area index per plant (4.87) was recorded in BRC-8. Whereas, the lowest plant height, plant girth, number of functional leaves, leaf area, leaf area index was recorded in BRC-16 and the lowest number of suckers per plant during the shooting stage in the pooled mean was recorded in BRC-15.
