Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is an important pulse crop providing a major source of protein in vegetarian diets. The present study investigates the effect of phosphate-rich organic manure (PROM) on the growth, yield attributes, and productivity of chickpea in comparison with inorganic phosphorus sources. The experiment was conducted during the Rabi season of 2023-24 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India. The randomized block design (RBD) was employed with eight treatments replicated three times. Observations on plant height, number of pods per plant, seed index, grain yield, and harvest index were recorded. Results indicated that PROM application at 320 kg/ha with FYM at 12 t/ha significantly improved growth and yield parameters compared to the control. The study suggests that PROM application is a viable alternative to chemical phosphorus fertilizers for sustainable chickpea production.
