Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple crop that significantly contributes to food security in India. However, weed management plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving rice productivity, particularly under the climatic conditions of Hamirpur District, Uttar Pradesh. This review paper discusses the impact of weed infestation, climate variability, and weed management strategies on rice production in the region. Various integrated weed management approaches, including chemical, mechanical, and cultural control methods, are examined for their effectiveness in enhancing rice yield and reducing weed competition. Farmers should adopt integrated weed management practices to sustain rice production and reduce dependency on herbicides for long-term weed control. Efficient weed management in rice cultivation under the climatic conditions of Hamirpur District requires a balanced approach integrating chemical, mechanical, cultural, and biological control techniques. Farmers should adopt integrated weed management practices to sustain rice production and reduce dependency on herbicides for long-term weed control.
