Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during the kharif and rabi seasons at the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, to evaluate 40 gladiolus genotypes for growth, flowering and vase life. The experiment used in a Randomized Block Design with two replications. Delhi Local recorded the earliest sprouting, while Green Bay exhibited the highest plant height, on par with Arka Gold and Dhanvantari. Delhi Local and Magma showed maximum vegetative growth with respect to number of leaves and shoots. Gunjan took the minimum days to spike emergence, and Delhi Local produced the maximum number of spikes, on par with Darshan. Arka Gold had the highest spike length and weight, while Arka Amar produced more number of florets per spike. Priscilla recorded the maximum floret diameter and Arka Naveen had the longest vase life, on par with several other genotypes.
