Abstract
A field experiment entitled “Nutrient management in foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.) through organic sources” was carried out at the organic block of Instructional-cum-Research Farm, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat during the rabi season of 2024. The result indicates that application of 15 kg N through enriched vermicompost + 3% foliar spray of panchagavya at 30 and 50 DAS (T5), resulted in highest growth parameters viz., plant height, number of tillers/m2, and dry matter accumulation, which was statistically at par with 20 kg N through enriched vermicompost (T2). The same treatment combinations of 15 kg N through enriched vermicompost + 3% foliar spray of panchagavya at 30 and 50 DAS (T5) also recorded the highest yield attributing characters viz., number of panicles/m2, length of panicle, weight of panicle and highest grain yield and stover yield which was statistically at par with T2 and significantly higher over the other treatments.
