Effect of different weed control methods on growth and yield attributes of maize (Zea mays L.)

Abstract
A field experiment was conducted in the agriculture farm of The Neotia University during the kharif season to study the effect of different weed control methods on growth and yield attributes of maize. Maize variety Gaurav- 65 was shown in randomized block design with 3 replications and seven treatments i.e., Paddy straw mulching, Live much (cowpea), Pre emergence (PE) Atrazine, Post- emergence (PoE) (Topramezone + Atrazine), PE Atrazine with 1 Hand Weeding (HW) at 40 DAS, HW at 20 and 40 DAS, Weedy check and data was recorded at 20, 40, 60 and at harvest (90 DAS). The statistical data analysis revealed that Atrazine with 1 HW at 40 DAS among all other treatments denoting effectiveness combine treatment.
