Study was conducted to assess the soil physical and chemical properties in Challakere taluk of Karnataka on the soils where the pomegranate crop has been grown by the farmers. The results of the soil micronutrient status are correlated with the soil texture (Sand, Silt and Clay), bulk density, pH, electrical conductivity and organic carbon status of the soil. Sand content is negatively correlated with Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and B. Silt also showed a moderate negative correlation with Cu and positively with Fe, Mn, Zn and B. Clay showed a positive correlation with Mn (r=0.153*), Fe (r=0.059) and Cu (r=0.137) with B (r=0.028) and Zn (r=0.103) it has shown a negative correlation. Bulk density (BD) negatively correlated with the micronutrients Fe (r=0.134), Mn (r=0.168*), Zn (r=0.125), Cu (r=0.157*), B (r=0.134*). Organic carbon (OC) is positively correlated with Fe (r=0.197**), Mn (r=0.123), Zn (r=0.248), Cu (r=0.229) and B (r=0.248). Electrical conductivity (EC) has a notable positive correlation with all the micronutrients Fe (r=0.094), Mn (r=0.087), Zn (r=0.07), Cu (r=0.069) and B (r=0.065). pH is negatively correlated with Mn (r=0.219**), Cu (r=0.176*), Fe (r=0.212*) and positively with Zn (r=0.053) and B (r=0.026).
