A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy research farm of School of Agricultural Sciences, Nirwan University, Bassi, Jaipur (Rajasthan) to find out the “Effect of date of sowing on growth, yield attributes and productivity of different varieties of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)”. The experiment consisted 12 treatment combinations i.e., three levels of date of sowing (D1-20 October, D2-10 November and D3-1 December) and four varieties (V1-HD 2967, V2-HD 2985, V3-HD 2888 and V4-HS 542). The experiment was laid out in Split Plot Design and replicated thrice. Results show that growth parameters (plant population, plant height, dry matter accumulation and number of tillers) were observed maximum when wheat crop show on D2-10 November. The grain yield for D1 was observed 51.59 q ha-1 increasing to 55.69 q ha-1 for D2 and decreasing to 47.98 q ha-1 for D3 i.e., late sown crop. However, the grain yield was highest recorded for V1-HD 2967 i.e., 54.08 q ha-1 followed by V4- HS 542 i.e., 52.50 q ha-1 and V2- HD 2985 i.e., 51.12 q ha-1. Among the treatments, V1 exhibited the highest mean ratio of 2.39, with values ranging from 2.15 (D3) to 2.61 (D2), indicating a significant variability depending on the sowing date. Conversely, V3 displayed the lowest mean ratio of 2.07, with values ranging from 1.82 (D3) to 2.34 (D2), suggesting a narrower range of outcomes across sowing dates compared to other varieties. The overall highest ratio observed across all treatments was 2.61 for V1 at D2, while the lowest ratio was 1.82 for V3 at D3. Wheat crop may be sown on 10th November to obtain maximum, growth, yield attributes, yield and net profit and benefit: cost ratio. To earn maximum profit, variety HD-2967 may be grown. Wheat variety HD-2967 may be sown on 10th November followed by variety HS-542 with 10th November to get maximum yield and benefit.
