Horticulture plays a crucial role in enhancing human health and well-being, offering both direct and indirect benefits. This review paper explores the multifaceted impact of horticulture on physical, mental, and social health. The consumption of horticultural crops, rich in essential nutrients, contributes significantly to improved dietary health and the prevention of chronic diseases. Additionally, horticultural activities, such as gardening and therapeutic horticulture, have been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while promoting physical fitness and social interaction. The paper also examines the role of urban green spaces, which are often a product of horticultural planning, in fostering community well-being and environmental sustainability. By synthesizing recent research, this review highlights the critical importance of horticulture in promoting a healthier and more sustainable society.
