A field trial was conducted during Rabi season of 2020-21 and 2021-22 to study the "Optimizing emmer wheat yield: Strategies for lodging prevention with plant growth regulators". The study was organized using a split-plot design, employing three replications. The experimental treatments included four genotypes in the main plot and five treatments in the sub-plots. The results indicated that the genotype of MACS 2971 with foliar application of ethephon @ 30 ppm l-1 of water (V1G5) recorded significantly lower plant height (66.00 cm), lodging score (0.83%), higher number of effective tillers (391.83 m-2), grain yield (44.24 q/ha), straw yield (72.99 q/ha), biological yield (117.73 q/ha), gross returns (₹. 1,62,851 ha-1), net returns (₹. 1,27,530 ha-1) and B:C ratio (4.61) followed by V1G3, V2G3, V2G5, V3G3 and V4G5. Where, as significantly higher plant height, lodging score, lower number of effective tillers, grain yield, straw yield, biological yield and lower economic returns was (V4G5) recorded in without foliar application of plant growth regulators in gokak local genotype.
