Analysis on area, production and productivity of basmati rice in India

The complete set of data used for the study comes from secondary sources and spans the years 1988–1989 through 2017–2018. Period I (1988–89 to 2002–03), Period II (2003–04 to 2017–18), and the overall Period (1988–89 to 2017–18) comprise it. In Period I, the CGR of the total national export was 19%, while in Period II, it was 15.09 percent. In Period I, the percentage of total agricultural export with a CGR of 16.97% was recorded, while in Period II, it was 16.46%. The percentage CGR of the total basmati export was 16.96 percent in Period I and 22.63 percent in Period II area. Area planted to basmati rice had a CGR of 5.77% in Period II compared to 5.76% in Period I. The area's CGR for basmati rice production in Period I was 6.04 percent, while in Period II it was 9.01 percent. The area's CGR of basmati rice productivity in Period I was 0.25 percent, whereas in Period II it was 1.24 percent. In Period I, the CGR of the basmati rice export quantity was 8.72%, while in Period II, it was 13.64 percent. In Period I, the percentage of CGR export value of basmati rice was 16.96%, whereas in Period II, it was 22.63%. In Period I, the percentage CGR of unit export value of basmati rice was 7.58%, while in Period II, it was 79.1%.
