Shashank Kumar Jaiswal, Vikram Singh and Shruti G George

The present investigation entitled “Effect of vermicompost and panchagavya on growth and yield of Pearl millet” was conducted during June-September 2023 at the (SMOF), Central Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) Which was carried out in Statistical Design adopted for the experiment was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications twelve treatments combinations. The result of present investigation shows that the treatment T12 (Vermicompost 6 t/ha + Panchagavya 6%) outstands in all the aspects with significant results in growth and yield of pearl millet. Parameters like Plant height (121.70 cm), Plant Dry weight (55.14 g), Crop Growth Rate (13.14 g/m2/day), Relative Growth Rate (0.01205 g/g/day), Ear head length (18.88 cm), Number of grains/heads (1908.48), Test weight (8.64 g), Grain yield (3.19 t/ha), Stover yield (5.89 t/ha), Harvest Index (39.53%). Which was followed by T9 (Vermicompost 4 t/ha + Panchagavya 6%). The lowest observation was recorded in T1 (Control + Panchagavya 2%). Treatment with vermicompost and panchgavya improves growth and yield of Pearl Millet to a lesser extent as compared to the control.
