The study titled “Studies on the varietal performance of Asiatic Lilium (Lilium auratum L.) on growth, flower quality and yield under shade net conditions in Telangana” was conducted during the rabi season of 2023-24 at the P. G block in College of Horticulture, Mojerla. The experiment was laid out in a completely randomised design with seven treatments replicated three times. The Fangio variety (T3) showed significant growth, including maximum plant height (62.0 cm, 79.8 cm), more leaves per plant (95.0,110.0), and maximum leaf area (15.9 cm2,19.7 cm2), maximum stem diameter (11.3 mm,12.8 mm), while Eyeliner had the highest chlorophyll content (69.3, 76.5) Fangio also had less number of days for bud initiation (16.3 days), days to colour visibility (42.0 days), days to full bloom (44.4. days) and more florets per spike (33.5). Arbatax recorded the longest bud length (12.3 cm), Richmond had the largest bud diameter (32.8 cm), and Lively produced the biggest flower diameter (20.3 cm). At harvest, Fangio exhibited superior flower quality, with the longest spike (66 cm), highest weight (93.8 g), and highest vase life (8.7 days). Arbatax was comparable to Fangio in spike weight (93.8 g) and flowering duration (9.2 days).
