Nanotechnology is the study of extremely small objects and is a multidisciplinary science which incorporates information from a variety of fields, including physics, chemistry, and biology and has application in agriculture, medicine, food, etc. Historically, a majority of developing nations have relied heavily on agriculture. It boosts the economy in addition to satisfying people's hunger. However, agriculture land is fast converting for housing affecting the production of crops at large. As a result, farmers have started to apply higher dose of fertilizers to achieve higher returns. Nano fertilisers are fast emerging as a solution to achieving higher returns with smaller application doses. In addition to providing stress tolerance, nano fertilisers triple the nutrient utilisation efficiency (NUE). This paper examines T. peruviana aqueous leaf extract as a possible source of stabilising and reducing agents for biological synthesis of nanoparticles of silver in order to exploit the nutritional and antibacterial properties of silver.
