Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at Central Demonstration Farm (CDF) Wani Rambhapur, Department of Agronomy, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during kharif season of 2023-24 with a objective to study the effect of different integrated weed management practices on growth of jute. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with eight treatments and three replications. The growth characters viz., plant height, number of branches, leaf area index and dry matter accumulation were significantly influenced due to different application of herbicides. Maximum values of growth characters were recorded by farmer practices consisting of two weeding 15-20 and two hoeing 30-35 DAS (T7) which was at par with Pendimethalin 38 EC (PE) @ 1.5 kg a.i. ha-1 fb 1 HW at 35-40 DAS (T1) Thus, the combination of manual weeding and hoeing or Pendimethalin application may be suggested to farmers for successful cultivation of jute.
