DC Rajput, RG Khandekar, BR Salvi, MC Kasture and KV Malshe

An experiment on “Response of betel vine (Piper betle L.) to media and fertilizers under shed net condition” was carried out during 2021-22 and 2022-23 at Department of plantation, spices, medicinal and aromatic crops, College of Horticulture, Dapoli, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli. The experiment was laid out in Split Plot Design having eighteen treatment combinations of replicated twice and each treatment combination contained 30 plants. The main plot included the six media i.e. M1 -Soil, M2-Soil + FYM (1:1), M3-Soil + Vermicompost (1: 1), M4-Soil + Poultry manure (1:1), M5-FYM + Poultry manure (2:1) and M6-Vermicompost + Poultry manure (2:1) and sub plot contained three fertilizers i.e. F1-112.5:75:22.5 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha, F2-150:100:30 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha (RDF), F3-187.5:125:37.5 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha. The growth parameters such as i.e. Length of vine (cm), diameter of vine (mm) was significantly influenced by interaction of media and fertilizers but internodal length (cm) was found non-significant effect. The results revealed that the interaction effect of media and fertilizers, M3F3 i.e. Soil + Vermicompost (1:1) + 187.5:125:37.5 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha recorded maximum length of vine (285.81 cm) and diameter of vine (6.17 mm).The minimum found in M1F1 i.e. Soil +112:5:75:22.5 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha.
